Scooter, Gelded to Stud.

This is my first attempt at adding stories to the site.  Each day providing chiropractic care for animals has its share of interesting tales so I plan on sharing a few with you.  This story is about a 26 year old quarter horse who is a retired barrel racer and long time competitor.  Over the course of about a month I had been at a farm off and on and the owners decided they wanted Scooter checked out.  No, Scooter is no longer a competitor and yes he does spend his days in the pasture hanging out.  Scooter stiffly walked up and I started his exam and treated him.  I wasn’t back to Scooters farm for 2 weeks but when I returned I was shown what Scooter had become.  Instead of what the owners had come to expect after years of being a quite horse who didn’t get to active, Scooter had been to the fountain of youth, he was running the fence and was giving the other horses grief.  I found out that there was a mare in season on the other side of the farm and Scooter had actually broke the fence earlier in the day to try and get to her.  Now the real kicker is Scooter is a gelded horse and has been for many years.  Once Scooter had been adjusted and his body and nervous system got to heal its self, he was a new horse, better energy, more playful and increased libido.  This was the second time I have seen this with a older gelded horse who gets reborn when they get adjusted and start to feel the way they should.

Have a great day,

Dr. Seth
