Applied Kinesiology (AK)

Applied Kinesiology (AK), developed by Dr. George Goodheart in 1964, uses bioenergetic feedback through testing the strength of various muscles in the body. Dr. Nelson uses this highly individualized, in-depth sytem of analysis–also called muscle response testing (MRT)–to assess various aspects of a patient’s state of health. This includes evaluating and treating postural and muscular imbalances, neurovascular and neurolymphatic points, subluxation, cranial-sacral movement, acupuncture meridians, and nutritional status. Dr. Nelson uses muscle response testing to help identify the inter-relationships of body systems, allowing him to provide truly holistic health care to his patients.

Dr. Nelson uses AK to evaluate functional illness, which typically precedes disease. AK enables health investigation without intrusion. AK gives insight into the underlying causes and solutions to many functional health problems.

Nutritional Counseling

Nutritional counseling appointments are available in office or by phone. The supplements and medical foods we recommend are from the highest quality, pharmaceutical grade nutritional lines. In most cases, these items can be shipped directly to your location. When possible, nutritional consultations are often combined with Applied Kinesiology testing. In this way, Dr. Nelson can select products that are most compatible with your body’s biochemical individuality. For example, if you have a bacterial infection, several herbal, homeopathic, and vitamin-based remedies could provide support for your body to overcome that infection. Applied Kinesiology testing eliminates most of the trial and error and helps Dr. Nelson zero in on the remedy or remedies that are most likely to help you.

Lifestyle Seminars

As a community service to businesses, churches, and other organizations, Dr. Nelson is available for on-site seminars and health talks. Allow us to educate your staff on how to prevent conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome, neck pain, shoulder pain and low back pain. Nutritional Supplements

Dr. Nelson knows how to use nutritional supplements to treat a wide variety of conditions. From treating infections (sinus, respiratory, intestinal, etc.) with herbal remedies and detoxifying the liver with medical foods to normalizing female hormones and easing arthritis pain with supplements, Dr. Nelson’s recommendations are safe and highly effective.

Orthotics

Because your feet are your foundation, Dr. Nelson pays special attention to their stability and function. Many people have fallen arches or dropped ankles. This can cause not only foot pain and fatigue, but also structural problems in the rest of the body. Aching legs, knee pain, pain along the outside of the thigh, low back or hip pain, pain between the shoulder blades, and even headaches can result from fallen arches. Dr. Nelson fits his patients who need them with Vasyli foot orthotics. Many orthotics are made by stepping into a mold, which duplicates the fallen arch. In contrast, Vasyli orthotics are made with the foot in a corrected position so that the orthotic can support your foot in its optimal position.
