Sometimes we are introduced to information at just the right time and it can make all the difference in our lives. Recently I was introduced to some really cool research from other areas in science and want to share a bunch of it. Let us start with just a couple of cool things.

First, Tensegrity, funny name for a REALLY cool event. As a chiropractor I know how powerful what I do is and can really effect people in many different ways. Well Tensegrity is actually a word for what happens when an external force is applied to the body stimulating it all the way to the cellular level and causing a change in the expression of DNA. Yes, having your spine checked and adjusted can change the expression of your DNA. This is really cool as a chiropractor because we have known for a long time that adjusting the spine can in some cases have far reaching effects beyond just treating pain. Second, Dysponesis, which is a reversible illness state of the body that is caused mostly by altered communication between the body and the nervous system due to environmental events, body sensations, emotions and thoughts. This altered state leads to changes in health that lead to illness and confusion between the body and the brain. To me this is amazing and exactly what chiropractors and other wellness doctors have been saying for over a century. Chiropractors believe illness, pain and disease come from structure stress, emotional stress, and environmental stress and through adjustments we can improve the communication between the body and the brain through a healthier nervous system.
